I’m just a guy trying to grow closer to God while helping others do the same.
I enjoy hanging out with the family, reading (mostly nonfiction and sci-fi/fantasy), easy hikes and biking, popcorn, Mexican food, and deep discussions.
My day job is I.T. for a school district. I’m slightly more into Macs than PC, though I’m not a Mac Head.
I love cats and dogs, but I’m definitely a cat person. I also love Star Wars and Star Trek, but I’m more into Trek.
I was baptized Presbyterian, raised United Methodist, spent a few years not going to church, went to Assemblies of God with my then-girlfriend and now-wife, we both worked at and attended a Christian Church Disciples of Christ, and am now very active at a Vineyard Church.
I volunteer on Sunday mornings on the Prayer Team, occasionally run slides and lights, am a small group leader, and help run a Celebrate Recovery group. I have been a sponsor and mentor for years, mostly for young men.
As I’ve matured in my faith, I’ve become less concerned about specific theology and more concerned about getting to know God. When someone comes to me with a problem, I usually don’t know how to fix it. Instead, I try to help them get to know their Lord and Savior, someone who provides much better help than me.
